Two days instead of weeks: How over 6,000 square meters and over 100 dormers were measured in record time

Situation

Dachdeckerei Mann GmbH has been following developments in the area of automated drone measurements since 2018. “We already have Airteam in June 2018 with a major project of over 1,100 m² tested. The results were good, but the product hadn't completely convinced us back then,” says Marco Krüger, construction and project manager for the digital measurement.

Challenges

With over 25 employees, Dachdeckerei Mann carries out several hundred roof construction projects every year and also creates significantly more offers.
Marco Krüger says that “it quickly became clear that we had to carry out the drone flights ourselves for so many projects. ”

Solution

Dachdeckerei Mann GmbH opted for the Airteam drone starter set including drone, accessories, theory and practical training. After just one day of on-site training, Marco and Gert were ready for digital measurement by drone. The first measurements were then carried out immediately two days after the training on five objects, each with an area of over 6,000 m2 and more than 100 dormers. “Manually creating the measurements would have kept us busy for weeks,” says experienced roofer Gert Hartwich.

In addition to roof dimensions, drone footage also provides additional benefits, such as documentation of construction progress, inspection of storm damage and much more. Just a few days after the training, customers of Dachdeckerei Mann GmbH have already asked whether they could receive pictures and videos of their roof. Marco and Gert are now happy to fulfill this request for their customers.
